This month’s Circles meetings have been underwritten by the generous support of Shorebridge Wealth Management, who serve clients of all sizes, helping real people improve their lives through investing. We are grateful for the partnership of our corporate sponsors and could not continue our work without them.
In Circles, we are finishing up with the matching period. This means that after 20 weeks of training/matching activities, our newest cohort of leaders and allies are about to put into matched circles. Once they are sorted, Leaders and allies will work together and continue to develop and work towards their goals. Some of the matching activities we’ve done include a day of service, painting, karaoke, board game night, speed-matching (like speed dating.)
Circles is centered around a match of a Circle Leader (a low-income person or couple) with 2 or 3 Circle Allies (middle or upper income volunteers) who work together to help the Leader achieve their goals. We work so hard at making sure these relationships are a good fit because we know that they are integral to the success of our community. These individuals will put in a lot of work shoulder to shoulder. They are present in each others lives for light moments as well as heavy ones. One of the most beautiful parts of Circles is watching these relationships grow and flourish as members invest in each other. This new cohort is just at the beginning of that wonderful process.
It’s been a lot of fun watching the new leaders and allies build relationships, and we’re excited to make matches and start working on goals together!
